post-project interview
What was the challenge you were facing when you first engaged with True Nature?
We wanted our traders and sales people to build on their existing approach. They were extremely competent, but we wanted to build in more consistency and process as we scaled. It was also important to us to give team members access to ongoing professional development. We were looking for practical training and mentoring that would help individuals grow in confidence, improve customer interactions, and ultimately support business growth.
How did True Nature approach your project / what was the proposed solution?
Murray took the time to understand our business, our people, and the specific challenges we faced. Rather than delivering a one-off training programme, he proposed a combination of regular sales workshops, planning meetings and individual one-to-one mentoring sessions. This allowed the training to be tailored to each person's needs while also bringing the team together to share experiences, challenges, and define the agreed route forward.
How did your team find the structure of the sessions & content?
The team has responded very positively to the sessions. The workshops are interactive, engaging, and highly relevant to our day-to-day roles. Murray creates an environment where people feel comfortable contributing and asking questions. The one-to-one sessions are particularly valuable as they provide personalised support and actionable advice that individuals can immediately apply in their work.
What impact have you seen as a result of the project?
We are coming off one of the most successful period's in our history which has aligned with the work Murray has done with the team. We've seen improvements in confidence, communication, and overall sales capability across the team. The regular nature of the training has helped maintain momentum and ensure that learning is continually reinforced, rather than being forgotten after a single session. Team members are more aware of their strengths and development areas, and we have seen a more consistent and professional approach to customer engagement.
What follow up actions have been taken off the back of the project?
The learning from the workshops and mentoring sessions is regularly discussed within the team, and individuals have set personal development goals based on Murray's guidance. We have also worked with Murray to implement some new KPI metrics to make sure the agreed approach is being adhered to. We continue to work with True Nature on an ongoing basis, with the regular sessions helping to support continuous improvement and keep development at the forefront of the team's priorities.
What advice would you give to other firms looking to embark on similar projects?
Choose a training provider who takes the time to understand your business and can tailor their approach to your people. The biggest benefit we've seen is from the combination of group learning and individual mentoring, which allows both team and personal development. Be prepared to invest in ongoing development rather than viewing training as a one-off event, as this is where the real long-term value comes from.
TOP TIP
Belief is everything - sales isn't about confidence or ability to present. Its about believing you have the solution to a problem
